Social Groups
IUC Socials
IUC Socials are an opportunity to meet people from our church who have recently joined us or attend a different service with the aim of fostering friendship and belonging within the church.
The lunch or dinner gatherings of approximately 10 people (including children) will be hosted in different member’s homes on four Saturdays across the year.
IUC Socials are for everyone to participate as they are able and available. Contact the Office for more information.
The Hikers Group
The Hikers Group meet monthly with interesting and active outings.
Once a month, usually on a sunday afternoon a different person from within the group hosts an outing.
Children are welcome in company of parents or other responsible adults.
Blue cards are not required as any children are to be accompanied. A list of people attending is always kept.

The Knitting Group
Anyone and everyone is welcome whether they can knit, want to learn or just need company.
The knitting group meets in the foyer every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 2pm till 4pm.
Afternoon tea is shared. Ring or email Brigid Limerick for more information. (current coordinator).
We respond to requests and have been going since 2012. Some of our prjocts have included:
- Domestic violence victims
- knee rugs to Sinnamon Village and the PA
- Teddies for Syria
- Nepal Orphanage
- cotton beanies for babies in north Queensland
- beanies and singlets for babies in orphanages and hospitals in South Africa
- supporting Aunty Jean’s work in Aboriginal communities
- orphanage in Chaing Rai
- Outback outreach
- Save the Children Fund
- beanies and baby tops for Homeless Connect
- Knitting for Brisbane’s Needy
- Teddies for families experiencing suicide
