Ministry Team

The Ministry team works together to provide oversight of our spiritual and community life, and service in the local area.

Rev Lyn Burden

Minister of the Word

Lyn grew up in India and originally trained as a science teacher. A life-long learner and educator, she has served in a variety of ministries in the church, including superintendent minister at Wesley Mission Queensland.

Lyn recently received the Order of Australia medal for her extraordinary work within the church and wider community. Lyn also loves travelling ad long-distance walking.

 

Ms Julie Watson-Egan

Julie is our ‘front–of-house’ person, answering phone calls and welcoming visitors. She is officially the Office Administrator, and is available Monday to Friday, 9am – 1pm.

 

Alan Baker

Rev Alan Baker

Minister in Association

Alan’s passion are pastoral care, worship, indigenous issues and youth.

Alan became a minister in 1988, and has served at Bayside (Wynnum-Manly), Callide Valley (Biloela) and Toowoomba West. He worked with Blue Care Head Office, and became Chaplain for Blue Care in their aged care facilities on the Gold Coast. Previously, Alan was a farmer at Wandoan, and had worked on aboriginal settlements in Arnhem Land.

 

Note:

There are other retired clergy and qualified lay counsellors who do pastoral care and counselling for the community by request.
Clergy are also willing to conduct baptisms, weddings and funerals and other special services by request through the church office.

Worship Times

Sundays 3, 10, 17, 24 January – 9 am and 6 pm

From 31 January
Sundays 8 am, 9.30 am and 6 pm
